The year 2024 was a busy year for the sport shooting community, culminating in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The best of the best were in their top form with the eyes of the whole world upon them. Team Aiming Art tried to prepare the best possible content both for those who were training hard to achieve their personal goals and for those who are fans of the shooting sport. Looking back, we chose the 3 best Practical Pointers from different categories of Pointers for a review of 2024 and a boost for 2025.
The most viewed and most shared Practical Pointer of 2024 was 3 Drills for A Better Hold. This Shooting Pointer offers 3 drills that focus on the core muscles of a shooter’s body that help them maintain a strong and controlled hold; help improve stability; and improve endurance in the prolonged periods of standing in a forced position. The blog’s main feature is perhaps a downloadable pattern for your dry-firing practices – perfect for your home training or for warming up before actual shooting practice.
Filling the hole in shooters’ mental preparation, Aiming Art’s Psychological Pointers offer direct and applicable tools for sport shooters of any age and level. In March, Kristina Kiisk wrote and recorded a guided pre-shooting meditation that will help you relax your body and mind, while directing your focus onto things that matter during a shooting session. You can listen to Kristina’s soothing voice (the recording is just shy of 10 minutes) or translate the text to your own language, adapt it for your personal use, and record it in your own voice.
In Other Practical Pointers, we launched our new product: Shooting Dice. Suitable for shooters of any level, any discipline, and any size of group from 1 onwards, this innovative tool (re)introduces fun to the shooting range. If you are running out of drills, if you are bored of your everyday practice, or if you want to compete with your shooting friends in a new and original way, this set of 5 shooting games is the right thing for you! Available in Aiming Art’s Shop since early 2024.
You are more than welcome to try out and adapt these three hands-on tools to your personal and non-commercial needs. Team Aiming Art will continue to develop new methods to help shooters of all levels perfect their skills in this sport that we are so passionate about.
